Born in Hawaii, but definitely considered a California native, I’ve lived here on and off most of my life. A military brat, I’ve had lots of opportunities to travel and explore. I’ve seen the sights of Italy, Paris, England, Wales, Scotland, Malaysia, Japan, Amsterdam, and various spots of the U.S. The ‘always keep moving’ bug has me on continuous lookout for my next adventure.
Graduated with a marketing degree from SFSU, I've been working in marketing even before I switched that tassel over. Why marketing you ask? Well, I originalIy wanted to go into fashion and had my sights set on applying to FIDM when my Dad said “Nope, you get a four-year degree.” (Hope that doesn’t age me because FIDM now has four year degrees, in fact SFSU has one too now for fashion). So on I went to a university that offered four year degrees, business was practical and marketing had creative written all over it, so I found a new love.
The brainstorming of ideas, the strategy planning, implementation and seeing how it all worked out can be exciting. Taking action and seeing the reaction. All very interesting. It’s one of the things I do now, figuring out ways for clients and companies to increase their bottom line. I do have to say the planning phase is the apple pie or in my case, the chocolate. I love planning, to do lists, tasks list, implementation - sign me up!
Besides marketing, I’ve also had the amazing opportunity to assist businesses in various stages of fruition. I’ve created the set-ups for businesses, operations, manufacturing, and inventory management. Basically, I’ve dabbled in most parts of the small business model. Mell of all trades, if you will, and I’m enjoying it all.
