Bye Frisco Bye
Last October, while I was in England studying for the GMAT and pondering the purpose of my life (what I didn’t like and what I did like), I decided to pack my stuff and head to San Diego. I needed a change of scenery and technically I am from San Diego, I went to high school here, but it wasn’t really home to me, not anymore. Gone was the home I grew up in and my parents weren’t even there half the time (traveling parents).
So, still remotely working and having a semi-place in the Bay Area (like a security blanket), I loaded a uhaul and with my dad and brother I drove back down to San Diego for semi-good. As soon as I stepped out of car I knew I didn't need my security blanket. Though I have to admit I have been traveling to San Francisco almost every other month for work or family/friend happenings, so I definitely don’t have the opportunity to miss it.
Have you every debated on a decision you had to make for years and then just woke up one day and said, "Yup, we’re doing this." That was me. I'd been talking about going back to San Diego for awhile, tired and really not appreciating all the beauty SF has to offer, I knew it was time.
Now ten months later, I only thing I miss are my friends. So yeah, bye frisco bye.
