READING TUTOR & DISPLAY DESIGNER

Display Designer Volunteer: In charge of creating bookcase, wall/window, and standing book display designs for upcoming holidays, events, national days, etc. to increase circulation and awareness of library offerings.

Reading Buddies Tutor: Tutoring students entering grades 1-5 on letter identification, pronunciation/understanding of individual words, practice reading aloud, identifying the main themes, characters, and reading comprehension.

Weekly Arts & Crafts: Occasionally create instructions and samples for weekly arts & crafts for instructor to work on with patrons. Group age ranges from toddlers to elementary.

Counselor

The mission of Experience Camp is to provide grieving children with a summer camp program that helps build confidence, encourage laughter, and navigate their grief through friendship, teamwork, athletics, and the common bond of loss. Learn more here: http://www.experience.camp

Counselors are responsible for planning, teaching, coordinating, and carrying out activities and guiding campers in their personal growth and daily living skills.

ROLE MODEL

10 Books A Home (10BH) is a nonprofit organization that offers a new early education solution to families in high poverty communities who are dissatisfied with the high rate of student failure in their community. They provide home tutoring that positions high poverty preschoolers and their families to enter kindergarten above grade level. Learn more here: http://www.10booksahome.org

Role Models work one-on-one with children and parents in their homes to assist each family in developing a unique set of tools needed to be top performers when they enter their local schools.
